When you arrive to this restaurant, Merce or her father Pepe will welcome you, inviting you to take up a table in their spacious dining hall; near the fireplace or if you smoke, you may choose one of their terraces with views of Guadalest. In the kitchen, Amelia and her son Rafael endeavour to do their best.

Amelia has devoted her life to the cuisine. She has always been a self-taught woman learning how to cook the most traditional dishes; those that she used to eat at home in her childhood. When her son finished his studies of restoration, he decided to share with his mother all that he had learnt while keeping on learning from his mother as well.

The union of their works and their daily efforts have provoked a perfect symbiosis between the traditional and the haute cuisine in this restaurant of Guadalest.

Thanks to the huge capacity of its dinning hall, El Nou Salat is ideal for weddings, banquets, company dinners, smoking area… The care in the cuisine, as well as in the service is always present in this restaurant of Guadalest.

We do assure that their recommendations are the best products of the day. And the thing is that every morning, Pepe and his son Rafa attend to the fish market to buy what has just been fished as well as to obtain only those meats that are trustworthy. These products are always fresh and even some vegetables are from their own crop, a little garden located at the feet of the restaurant in Guadalest.

Amelia’s ‘Olleta de Blat’ is very well-known in this restaurant of Guadalest and yet it has appeared in different TV programmes as ‘España Directo’ explaining how to prepare it. However, and despite not being so much popular, we also recommend creamy rice with monkfish and clams, served in a clay pan for you to enjoy not only the taste, but also the smell. Iberian cheeks, sirloins, chops, sea bass, gilt-head and an endless number of dishes that may vary depending on the season.

You cannot reject the desserts of this restaurant… oh my goodness! Hot chocolate stuffed sponge cake, pistachio ice-cream stuffed caramelized ravioli, Paris-brest with home-made custards… Leave some space in your stomach for them.

El Nou Salat is an innovative restaurant in on-going training. It is a staunch protector of the traditional cuisine of the mountains of Alicante and the Mediterranean eating habits. Besides, it is a co-worker in training centres like Benidorm’s CDT, and it also participates, together with other restaurants in Alicante, in several gastronomic conferences.
