Guadalest can be found on the CV-755, only 20 kms from Benidorm
and 35kms from Alcoy.
From Madrid/Alicante:
The route is very straightforward. Follow the A-3 to Alicante,
where you join the A-7 Autopista following the signs to Benidorm
and Valencia. There are two Benidorm exits from the motorway
(signposted Terra Mitica and Benidorm Levante). Take either
of the two exits, and once you have passed the toll booth
follow the signs for the CV-70 , Callosa de Ensarriá/
La Nucia/Polop. You do not have to enter Benidorm at all,
and are now heading towards the mountains away from the sea.
The CV-70 has recently been renovated, and is dual carriageway
as far as La Nucia. There are a lot of roundabouts on this
road, but you carry straight on over all of them, until you
reach the outskirts of La Nucia (approx 8 kms from the toll
booth). On the roundabout before you reach La Nucia, you will
see a signpost which directs you left to Guadalest. You will
then join the mountain road (newly opened) for the 12km climb
to Guadalest. Just before you arrive in Guadalest there is
another roundabout, which signposts Benimantell to the right
and Guadalest straight on. Carry straight on and you will
find the house approximately 500 mts further on, on the right
hand side.
From Valencia:
Again the route is very straightforward. Follow the A-7 Autopista,
following the signs to Alicante, and take the Benidorm exit.
We do not recommend that you take the Altea exit, and then
the CV-755, because the road is not very good, with lots of
sharp bends and curves. It is much more straightforward to
leave the autopista at the Benidorm exit and then follow the
directions given above.
From Alcoy:
We only recommend this route for people who are already in
the area, as the CV - 70 from Alcoy to Guadalest follows the
mountain route with its corresponding bends and curves,. This
road passes through the villages of Benilloba, Benasau, Confrides
(where you enter the valley of Guadalest), Benifato, Beniarda
and Benimantell before reaching Guadalest.
